As many of you already know the ATF made a change to the LEEP system (the NICS check) which essentially broke our Chrome extension.  The ATF is not kind enough to let us know up front about changes they are introducing to the web site, so this caught us by surprise as much as it did you. 

WE ARE WORKING ON A SOLUTION AND WILL RELEASE AN UPDATE SOON!

Please do not submit a ticket, we are aware of the issue and working on resolution. The update introduced tabs to what used to be a single screen so as you can imagine it caused the extension to break.

What should you do in the meantime?????   Remember the good old days?  You will have to type  the information in, or copy and paste one field at a time.  We know it's painful and a fix is imminent, but we need a few days to program, test and verify.   

We appreciate your patience and we can assure you we are on top of the situation.

And yes, we have a general coreSTORE update being released...very soon... a few fun enhancements.

Sale Screen

improvement Discount Section Collapsed

Our goal is to reduce scrolling so we decided to collapse the discount section on the sales screen.  Just click it if you need to enter a discount or change a price tier. If your screen doesn't look the same make sure to hard refresh your browser.  On a PC you hold down the Shift-Ctl-R keys.  On a Mac you would Hold down Shift and click the Reload button. Or Hold down Command, Shift and click the 'R' key. 

new feature Cash out of the register will now print a receipt.

improvement The system will stop the sale from being completed if the payment amount far exceeds the sale amount.  This happens if the sales associate scanned a UPC code in to the payment amount field.

Work Order

new feature Added new security permission to Edit/Change the Item In Work Order. 

Reports

exciting! Reports now separate the date and time fields.  This means that when exporting reports to excel the date field will be treated in Excel as an actual date field without having to write any fancy formulas.

improvement Added a PRINT button to the Summary and Detailed Profit and Loss Reports, to allow the user to print the report/save it to PDF.

improvement Under the Detailed Sales Report, added a column that shows the name of the previous suspended sale type for that transaction.

improvement Added the selling price to the receiving receipt and changed the column title from Price to Cost.

improvement Added the internet order id to the Tax by Payments report.

Bound Book, 4473 & 3310

new feature You can now import custom fields into the bound book when importing bound book records from an external site.

new feature During import you can now choose whether inventory quantities should be updated.

fix Fixed bug in generating 3310s that was not ignoring firearms on books used for work orders from the '3310 check for alerts'.

fix Quotation marks in the Caliber/Gauge in a Bound Book record was preventing that firearm from being added to a 4473 (trying to do it just generated a JS error).

fix Fixed the check_for_3310_alert where the $id param could come in as empty and generate an error that's logged as an exception.     

fix Bringing up an existing 3310 for editing with a direct url didn't display the right firearm data     

fix Firearms that were both on valid (#11765) and invalid (#11760) 4473s (invalid/canceled/denied) within the 5 day time period could show up twice on the 3310 form 

fix Trying to print a 3310 from a direct URL would not generate the PDF properly.

A few quick updates:

new feature You can now print a service tag when you create a work order directly from the sales screen.

improvement You can now include serial numbers when you print the inventory summary report.

fix When receiving serialized items using the multi serial entry box, the system will no longer give a false warning that the count is off.

fix Custom fields print on the receipt.  Make sure you check the box Show on Receipt.

Delivery Screen

new feature Edit sale button will now take you the actual Edit Sale screen rather than bringing up the transaction in the sales screen. You can still click on the order number to bring up the sales screen.

WORK ORDERS

new feature You can now easily drag images in the work order screen as well as take a picture directly in the screen.

improvement Work order images are now stored to the database rather than the file system, this is to enable better load balancing of coreSTORE.

We integrated membership and subscription selling from coreFORCE into coreSTORE. For any of you who run a range, or any other type of business that requires recurring billing/subscriptions you can now sell classes AND memberships right from the register and we truly apologize for how long it took us to get the membership integration done.   

For those of you not in the know, our ECommerce platform coreFORCE has all the functionality for handling recurring membership billing, membership management, online range scheduling, class management and registrations, online waivers and a whole lot more. Lets start by showing a screen show of how an existing member's information is displayed on the sales screen.  I don't think I really needed the arrow to point it out. One important tip - if you see the ... make sure to click it if this person has more than one membership.

Next lets talk about selling memberships.  Just a few quick steps to enable this feature.  In the Store Configuration make sure to check the option "Sell subscriptions/memberships".

You can also change the button caption. Once you check the option you will see a new button in the button grid that is displayed on the sale screen:

improvement Quick Scan Icon More Visible

You may not even know that you can quickly scan multiple serial numbers at once in the receiving and sales screen, so we decided to try and make it more obvious.  Look for the orange icon with the bar code symbol.  Click it and watch the magic happen.

exciting!Android App Update 

Yes we have an app and even more exciting we have completely revamped the app and it's better than ever.  Just to mention a few highlights:

• Easier and quicker setup. Just enter your coreSTORE subdomain and start using the app.

• Set the app to automatically load the sale screen (open sale view)
• Set the app to automatically open the customer facing display
• Choose to open the cash drawer for cash and check payment types only
• New toolbar displayed on every screen with shortcuts to scan, print, go home and back a screen.

• Print receipts from your Android device.  Make sure you are using a Star Micronics printer and also make sure you install the Star Micronics PASSPRNT app (click the icon to install the app).    

Once you install PASSPRNT, you can run it on your device and make sure you can connect to your receipt printer.

Bound Book/4473/3310 Updates

new feature Added ability to manually generate a 3310 from the 4473 Action menu (choose 'Create 3310 from 4473...' next to a completed 4473)

new feature  Added automatic filtering of the records in Manage 4473 based on the current Location, so only the locations 4473's will be displayed instead of showing all 4473's.

It's hard to believe that we are past mid February and nearing March.  Today's update has some good nuggets that hopefully will help everyone out.  We made a lot of progress in improving our delivery and pickup screen which will help all of you that are processing internet orders.   As always we appreciate all the feedback we are receiving from everyone.  We have a few things in the works that will be popping up in March which will be extremely exciting, so stay tuned! NOTES & MORE NOTES

new feature You already could enter line item notes and order comments, well we added the ability to add order notes.  Notes can be added directly from the sale screen, the suspended sales screen and the delivery & pickup screen (both the front screen and detailed one).  

Notes can be marked as Internal only so they will not print on the receipt.  Notes are dated, time stamped and the system will clearly display who entered those notes.  Just tap that little notes icon and start typing away.  

coreFORCE users will be happy to know that we import all the notes that are on an existing internet order.

DELIVERIES & PICKUPS

new featureIf the order is an internet order it will clearly show in the details screen for the order and you can click on the internet order number to pull up the order on your web site.   This is a fantastic time saver if you need to research or look into the details of the internet order.

RECEIPTS

improvement The internet order number will now print below the sale id for any orders that were imported from your web site.

fix Fixed a few issues related to printing logos on receipts.

REPORTS

LABEL PRINTING

improvement New Label Replacement Fields

Added new replacement fields to print the value of any item attribute.  The format would be:

{ATTRIBUTENAME:item_attribute_value}

You would replace ATTRIBUTENAME with the actual attribute name.  For example if you had an attribute defined called color then you would simply enter:

{COLOR:item_attribute_value}

fix When editing labels and making multiple changes at a time, if you don't hit "Save" each time (which adds unnecessary steps/time), it won't save and then the user can accidentally click somewhere outside of the box resulting in losing all of the changes that were just made. You are welcome Rachael 😜.

Miscellaneous

improvement coreFORCE inventory bulk sync (from the store config) will mimic what is synced to the website when saving the item in the items screen.

improvement Field titles updated on the suspended sales screen.

improvement Merging customers will merge their store account balance (it will add the balances together to create a new balance).

improvement The items screen will now display the hidden system items like shipping fees.  This will allow the user to easily change fields on this item (for example making shipping a taxable item)

Bound Book & 4473  Updates

new feature 4473 Kiosk - Prevent spacebar from being entered when pulling up a 4473 using keyboard entry rather than a scanner.  A scanner at the kiosk is still the best and quickest way to pull up the 4473.

new feature 4473 Kiosk - Improved Signature Capture Options

Added ability to switch between available signature input methods on the fly through a dropdown control on Section B (to support kiosks where sig input device may fail so the customer can use 'touchscreen' instead).  

improvement 4473 Kiosk - You can hit Enter to trigger Continue button 

fix Duplicate customer records will no longer be created if the 4473 originated as a sale.

fix A new layaway will no longer create a pending disposition.

fix Fixed a bug related to transfers

Are you a coreFORCE user?  coreFORCE is our Enterprise level ECommerce+ solution.  It has much more than ECommerce and we are proud to say that many of the top Shooting Sports Retailers and Distributors use coreFORCE as their web platform.  Our latest customer that we took live this week is Modern Warriors out of St. George Utah, and happens to be one of my most favorite web sites that we have launched to date.

In this update we have enhanced some of the integration with coreFORCE.

new feature Kit Support

• You can now flag a kit as an ECommerce item which will cause it to be uploaded to coreFORCE as a product pack.
• Selling a kit online will result in an order in coreSTORE which has all the individual kit components in it (so it will break the kit out when importing the order.

new feature Custom Product and Kit Fields

Product Custom field data will be imported into coreFORCE.

Important: You have to setup the custom fields in BOTH coreSTORE and coreFORCE. The name of the field in coreSTORE must match the custom field code in coreFORCE.

important We wanted to apologize to all of our Ammoready customers for the problems that you experienced this week.   Thanks to the assistance provided by Ammoready we were able to FINALLY isolate the issue and get it resolved.  I want to stress to all of our customers that bugs and problems are not something we enjoy having and they cause us as much aggravation, time and money as they cause you.  

The problem experienced this week with the integration was due to an issue related to a third party library that we were using. It was not easy to track it down, but we finally found and squashed the bug which was causing severe stress to all involved. We appreciate everyone's patience and I feel confident that this issue will not happen again, furthermore, we are seeing some significant speed improvements when looking up the Ammoready catalog, which speaks very strongly to the need of continuing to eliminate layers of what I call the Onion!  You will be hearing me talk a lot about the onion these coming few months so stay tuned.

new feature For those of you who own a firearms store, when you search for an FFL we are now communicating directly with FFL eZ Check, this should provide a better experience when searching for an FFL.  

Validate FFL

Wherever there is an FFL# you can now click the validate FFL button and it will validate the FFL using FFL eZ Check.

Delivery Screen

improvement You can now add the company name to the main delivery screen and the company name will also be shown in the detailed screen.  You can also search for an order using the company name.

Store Configuration

new feature Sales Section: Warn User If Item Is Not Available
This option will alert the user on the sales screen if the total quantity available of an item (quantity on hand less quantity committed) is 0 or less than 0.

new feature Receiving Screen: Require Transfer Out Transaction # 
This option will force a user to enter a valid transfer out transaction number when entering a transfer in.

fix Fixed syncing inventory with Ammoready so that all item information is synced.

fix When merging customers loyalty points will be added together.

fix Orders from your web site will not mark the customer as tax exempt but instead will mark the order as tax exempt while keeping the customer taxable.

fix Email receipts will now include the correct terms based on the transaction type.

For all you programming geeks out there we made some changes to our API.

Sale method
The sale method should properly report the payment amount collected for a transaction, which will be the amount paid less the change due.

Items method
The items method will now return the quantity on order and quantity committed to sales.

Web Hooks
Look on the store config screen (scroll wayyyyy down).  We have added web hooks for various events that occur in coreSTORE.

new feature exciting! You can now notify technicians via SMS (text) or Email when they are assigned to a work order.   You can also notify your customer when there is a status change to the work order.

Technician Notifications

In Store Config under the Work Orders section you can specify whether to notify a technician via email or via SMS (text).  in order to use the SMS features you must sign up to www.twilio.com and then enter your credentials on the Locations screen.

Use the Jump To drop down at the top of the store config to quickly jump to any section on the configuration screen.

Once you setup notifications, any time a technician is assigned to a work order the technician assigned to the ticket will be notified.

Customer Notifications

Customers can be notified when the status of a work order has been changed.  For each work order status, you can choose whether you want the customer to be notified and how they are notified (via text or email or both).
